How the Thai number converter works

Thai digits are a direct substitution: 0–9 become ๐–๙. You can enter ordinary Arabic digits or Thai digits, and the converter keeps each decimal digit in order.

Thai number words are composed by place value. Ten is สิบ, twenty begins ยี่สิบ, and a final one in a multi-place number is usually read เอ็ด. Larger values repeat groups around ล้าน (one million). Digits after a decimal point are read separately after จุด.

The conversion runs entirely in your browser. Commas and spaces used as visual grouping are removed before conversion; the result is not a currency or pronunciation recording.

Arabic digits 0–9 ↔ Thai digits ๐–๙; integer groups repeat at powers of ล้าน (1,000,000).

This tool accepts signed numbers with up to 60 integer digits and 30 decimal digits. It formats a numeric reading, not dates, phone numbers, addresses, or currency amounts, whose spoken conventions may differ.

Frequently asked questions

Can I enter Thai numerals?

Yes. The input accepts either Arabic digits (0–9), Thai digits (๐–๙), or a consistent mixture of the two.

How does the converter read decimals?

It reads the integer normally, says จุด for the decimal point, then reads every following digit separately. That preserves zeros and the exact entered decimal places.

Why can one be written หนึ่ง or เอ็ด?

หนึ่ง is the ordinary word for one. At the end of many multi-place numbers, Thai uses เอ็ด, as in ยี่สิบเอ็ด for 21.

Does this converter translate prices into baht?

No. It converts the numeric value only and does not add บาท, สตางค์, or any currency-specific wording.

Does the converter round large numbers?

No. It processes the entered digits as text, so supported large integers and decimal places are not rounded by floating-point arithmetic.
